I have read that college coaches do not list all of the players at their school on their internet rosters. For example, showing 8-10 players but in reality having 15 or 16. Does anyone know how accurate that statement is?

I have never heard that before. I would say that is not true.

I don't know how common it is to not list all of the players.  Out of the three I know of, only TCU has had players that aren't listed on the roster.  Don't know if this is currently true but I know it's been true in the recent past.

I would say it is not true and could not imagine what purpose it would serve for them to do that.

There are many things that often go unlisted or not updated for lengthy times on a team's website.

Some schools place golf very low on the pecking order and will not have rosters and more often bios and schedules updated until well into the season.

I would seriously doubt it is an intentional act.

I would bet the players missing from the roster are walk-ons or first-year player to the program.

Probably walk on's. And honestly...a lot of kids lie and say they are on a school's golf team, and they really are not. Maybe they are trying to impress some dumb blondes!!!

I was told by a TCU player this past August that until you qualify for an event you are not featured on the website.. I can say it seems to hold true in this case because the player we knew there was not showing on the roster and when I asked this other player on the team, that is what he said. This was strictly TCU.

Bean:  your statement is the same thing that I have been told by players who played for TCU, untill you qualify for an event the coach does not place your name on the roster and do a bio for you.  Just his policy.

Does not seem like such a great policy, it would be like a baseball team only featuring 9 players, it takes more that the starters to make a team.
